No I don't think it's too bold. The deep color offsets the white crown, trim, fireplace, etc. Not that you're asking, and not knowing what the rest of the room looks like, but maybe the draperies could have some pattern on them, and remove some of the accessories from the mantel; something with a little texture (rustic wood, rattan) would offset the shininess of the mirror and your ceramic accessories. Nice to see someone who's not afraid of color!
