Help choosing lighting finish in open floor plan

We are building a house with an open floor plan where the kitchen island overlooks the dining area and living area. I am going with brushed nickel plumbing fixtures and stainless appliances. Should I also be doing brushed nickel for the pendant lights and chandelier over the table? What about cabinet hardware? Help!
