I would consider flanking the lovely doors with matching chests (table height) with drawers and maybe either mirrors above each or art. There could be a substantial plant/lamp on each. The chests could be fairly large; depending on your style and the rest of the house, they could be mirrored, antiques, light or dark wood, anything you love. It's always good to have such table height pieces right at the front door to set down mail, packages, etc. Large floor plants might be better where the other person shows small tables; plants might get more light there from the large window. The two "wow" red chairs with a small table to set coffees, etc. looks good. I'd get a table large enough to hold a couple of croissants as well!

And I like the white drapes you have now. Since they are different lengths due to the steps, keeping them very subtle might look best.
