I currently have a linen comforter but it can be changed.

Will you want a soft pale bedding of that same color then? That's not hard to find... you might want to soften paint color more.

I am open for all ideas.

I am so terrible at picking out paint colors. What I see on strips never looks the same on the walls. If anyone has the perfect grey with hints of blue I'd love specific color names

It's that way for everyone -- I looked at SW's website for Req. gray and its similar paints, 2 colors seemed ok: Blithe Blue [maybe softened into robin's egg blue] // and Dried Lavender.... have you looked? Course it's not same room, but it's a guide.

Just say Henna curtains were great for you -- well you didn't say if that blue-grey looked ok, and if you wanted them to whiten it [but I'm not expert] -- but if there's little wall space on 'window wall' and opposite wall [cause of doors there] -- for any art,etc... maybe those patterned curtains. Seems you won't have a rug either....well I'm rambling at this point.

Ok, back from a phone call -- what was so wrong with what you've tried? what if you softened it -- get your strip....

Nothing really wrong with color splotch I tried with sample- sw storm cloud. Just worried that with dark furniture it may be too dark? I'll try sample of the color next lightest on the strip.

Yes, that's what I meant, but even 1 wouldn't seem enough. Maybe those curtains happen to be that hue....I can't tell.... but close is sometimes ok. Do you like that blue that you tried? or have you liked a mineral blue-green?

What have you for inspiration --- art, clothing choices ?? I just SW'd Storm and it's drab like a storm - your exposure gave it blue, but I wouldn't!!

well for the bedroom... thats tough. depends on the bedding are you changing it? sometimes i'll find the bedding i like first and then paint to somehow contrast so it all fits together. my walls at home area a canvas tan. so it adds color, but its not too dark or light so the decor will match throughout my house.

Also, I really like the SW Requisite grey I have elsewhere, but felt I needed to add some color- maybe I should stay with what I like or is there a "rule" about adding color in adjoining rooms?

How are you enjoying Req grey? - are you adding color accents? which?

They shouldn't clash -- designers break rules even -- so let's have leeway for the start of this.... what colors do you like generally in there? Place towels and clothes on the bed - no joke.

The family, entry and halls are req grey. I have pure whit trim and cabinets. Accents of navy and a touch of raspberry here and there.

What about using the darker gray blue on the wall behind the bed and a shade or two lighter on the other walls. With the dark furniture, I'm afraid all 4 walls in the darker color could become cave like. I'd stick with the lighter color bedding you have so the room doesn't become too dark.

Put baby blue strip next to muted blues, and the grey is the difference. This room's Tibetan Blue has dark surfaces like yours and it's serene.... ?

If mine, I'd prefer more this Stone Blue, but lighter on strip. If you're keeping creamy pillows, place strip near and around....

I wear a lot of greys an beige neutrals, denim- I guess I really am afraid of color!

Just 1 more -- this Alaskan Skies is so nice with soft wood tones -- maybe you have a chandelier? Also seems your sample but softer... ?

You won't lack for paints in ocean colors... :)

I am suggesting the color should not too dark and not too light because in the bedroom since you have gray in the other rooms so we might have the blue that has gray in it or green has gray in it. I have created 2 options just for you can have a vision. By the way, the color in my pictures will be slightly different from the actual color in store, so check before purchase if you like my options. :-)

"Slate" seems a color that'd warm up with western light -- and you said navy and raspberry -- is this nice?

Hi Stephanie - I used photoshop to retouch photos. I normally present client with 3d image and photoshop picture, it's easy for client to make decision and clearly design direction. As you asked me for elephant ear color SW 9168. My opinion is be careful about too much brown tone. You might need a little contrast with dark brown furniture. And I like your idea photo for comfort color set I attached it down below but will go very good with my color options.

For the bathroom I do not see any photo. However, I suggest to go little bit darker than the bedroom. So the color transmission is not too plain or boring that my opinion.

Andy- I think I may stick with requisite grey in bed room. After all that and the samples all are too blue for me. Now for bath room. If I go darker should I stay on the strip with requisite grey or could I go toward that software color you picked ?

I suggest to go toward either one but need to be darker color you picked.
