Landscape Makeover - Eclectic Craftsman - Back, part two

The existing main patio surface was rough, uneven flagstone. Wrapping the patio was an immense yew hedge that blocked the view into the surrounding treeline. Starting from scratch, we designed a new patio with inset bluestone medallions and a control joint pattern which mimics those found on an existing dining patio on the home’s south side. In addition, the swirled stucco finish to the concrete on that dining patio was replicated on all of the new concrete surfaces.

Allowing for the elevation change between the new upper and lower terraces, a circular landing with concave and convex Waukesha Gray steps and staggered height retaining/seat walls were added. Pink tones found in the step material coordinates with the overall coloring found in the granite walls.

Enjoy!
