I think it looks great. Actually I'm between leathered Black Pearl or Leathered Black Cambrian. Does anyone know difference?

I'm also considering whether to go with black pearl leathered or the polished. I love the black with the hint of brown flecks. My concern is that the leathered version may show more brown...which I don't want.
During my search, several reps have said that the very dark quartz products don't hold colour the same... something about the additive. Just something you may want to ask your rep(s) about.

I think the black pearl texture compliments your other granite very nicely.

T Smith, we installed the leathered black pearl granite about a year ago. We use it every day and it has held up beautifully. We have gotten so many compliments on it as it is different than what is installed in most houses in our neighborhood. I'm attaching a picture to show the final product--just don't mind the mess on the other counters as we were finishing a big project.

Our piece of granite definitely reads as black. It is softened by the little bit of brown. It may vary from piece to piece. I will attach a closer picture of the granite. Good luck!

I know it’s been quite some time, but I want to thank you for posting these pictures. We are having the exact same renovation dilemma. We have the same Santa Cecilia granite on the perimeter, and our existing honey oak cabinets will be painted the same warm white. In a large city about 90 minutes away, I found a gorgeous slab of leathered black pearl granite for the larger island we’re putting in, but because of the pandemic restrictions, my husband can’t travel to see it. The stone yard sent me home with a small sample, but it doesn’t have as much of the warmer browns as the slab I love, and my husband was worried it would read as too cool in tone with all the warm tones we love. Your pictures have convinced him that it will work. THANK YOU!

Not sure if you'll see this but I am wondering if you used a regular sealer or enhanced sealer for your black pearl counters? Thank you!

Hi! I got an email about your post and wanted to respond as House was invaluable while we were remodeling. A regular sealer was used by the installers and has held up really well.

We used Benjamin Moore White Dove (OC-17) with a water based polyurethane. Easy to wipe down and keep clean. Good luck!

The perimeter is Santa Cecilia gold (already installed when we moved in). We used a beveled 2”x4” travertine subway tile backsplash and the walls are Benjamin Moore Manchester Tan. We would have loved to removed the 4” granite backsplash but the granite was not scribed to the wall so there were gaps we couldn’t cover with our backsplash tile.

We have a similar scenario- have decided on repainting existing cabinets a warm white color, and installing a new island with black countertop to complement the perimeter counters. Really helps to see how beautifully it worked out for you. Love your floors also- do you have any info on the stain color or mfr if they were pre-finished?

The floors are red oak that were stained onsite with Minwax Special Walnut stain and an oil based polyurethane.

Our leathered black pearl granite has held up beautifully. We do most of our meal prep on the island and it cleans up great with a soapy sponge. We use Granite Gold a couple of times a month. It looks the same as when it was installed 8 years ago.

@njohs thank you! And you can feel the texture on yours? I've felt some leathered without any noticeable texture.

Ours does have a good amount of texture. It does not show water spots like a polished black granite.
