Lilyfinch, yes, isn't it funny how we can never seem to 'live in the moment'? Only truly appreciating our gardens sometimes when we look back at them in photos. Reesep, love your bulbs and roses (and the cute kiddos)! I think we have similar garden styles. I have a picket fence similar to yours out front, and planted bulbs in the foot or so wide strip of soil between it and the sidewalk as you have done. I think I am giving up on tulips, though. The squirrels are quite fond of them here.

Lilyfinch, your rose blooms remind me of apple blossoms. I remember reading once that apples and roses are related somehow, and you can really see the resemblance there!

The weather forecast next week is looking very wintery here. Highs in the 20's and accumulating snow. I'm not ready yet! Please keep 'em coming!

Winter sure seems to last forever, doesn't it? It's about 11 degrees here and I miss my garden so much today. Here is a garden shot of my princess Diana and Piilu clematis & my delphiniums I started from seed two summers ago. They are my proudest gardening achievement. I will be sad if they don't return for me someday.

I can't seem to upload more than one photo at a time. Here is a photo of my young Salet Moss rose, weighed down from all the blooms. The canes are much stronger now and I can't wait for it to bloom again this year.

Here is an up close shot of one of my Rooguchi Clematis. These got much too big for the obelisks they were on so they moved this fall to climb with roses on an arbor.
