It all looks nice and modern and neutral. Do you really want to decorate it?! I'd just get some colourful accessories for all the rooms then it's really easy to change them when you want a new look. Curtains will make a big difference. I'd get a double bed if you're planning on renting out the second bedroom too. Enjoy being a student :)

Hi Christopher. Congratulations on your first purchase it can be stressful getting things right. Try to plan what you want to keep and fit your design according to the colour scheme.

I would recommend keeping the tiles and changing the doors to a handless light cream gloss to bring it upto date. You can match the worktop and sink to a similar colour to give it a blended design. You will find it will make the room looking larger.

P.s remember you don't need to change your entire listen. A facelift with changing the doors and Worktops may suffice if your on a budget

Thank you so much for all the suggestions ! I am a student so I am on a little bit of a budget ! I'd say around £1000 max. I won't be able to do any major work such as knocking down walls at the moment but I will bare that in mind if I come to sell it !

The best piece of advise I can give you is not to be scared of the space. You have done what many people do and pushed all the furniture to the sides.

Take a look through some living spaces on Houzz image base and you will see how to better use the space to make it more appealing :)

Where is your property? I can supply you with cream gloss vinyl doors and a matt worktop + handles and cornice for £380 if you would like a kitchen facelift. I have some spare left over normally I would charge much more.

Congrats mate, I'd focus on the kitchen, the rest of the place looks neutral already. Get some new handles and see if you can't find a higher quality worktop online for cheap. Getting that fitted can be relatively cheap if you're not changing the cupboards.

I quite like the neutral theme, it's simple very Scandinavian, I'd keep it as it is and just add some nice accessories to jazz it up a little, and you could always change the accessories if you get bored?

I would focus on window treatments, the lounge in particular looks rather bare. Maybe full length simple curtains in a pale or accent color on a ceiling track, or good quality blinds (I can't see the current ones clearly) recessed into the window space so it doesn't flap around.

Next, you need to create a gathering space in the lounge around your coffee table, perhaps rotate the sofa 90 degrees to face window, put chair opposite and a tv in the corner, and then at the back of the sofa use your wooden unit as a low table for storage and decor. Then you could fit a dining table between that space and the door. Get a large natural rug to put under the dining space to protect the carpet.
You already have a lot of high level lighting so some table lamps on side tables could add an interesting mix. Cream, green, grey colors. Plus with some metallic silver

Hi, it's an exciting time getting your first home and it takes a while to pull things together. I think the lounge needs colour and your curtains, cushions and rugs should all complement each other. A striped rug is always a good idea as you can pick out your other accessories from one or two colours in the rug - and so it's a good starting point. These rugs are reasonably priced if you are on a budget.
