Thanks for teaching me something, Carly. I had never heard of Lampranthus, but it's similar to the Delosperma that we grow here in Colorado. Both Lampranthus and Delosperma are members of the Azioaceae family. At any rate, if it's similar to Delosperma, Lampranthus is probably a shallow-rooted plant that you can simply pull out of the ground. If it gives you any resistance, though, you can always use a spade to dig out remaining roots. Delosperma is an inconsistent performer. Sometimes it just dies out for no apparent reason. Other times, it rots from having snow sit on it too long. It's likely the same for Lampranthus. For gardeners who like the texture of Delosperma without the inconsistent performance issues, I recommend using Sedum.
