Trim - Paint, Wood, or combination?

Hello,

I am working on finishing a 12 x 16 ft. room of my basement for a workout/exercise room. I have already designed the room and am working on finishing the framing. I also already have a paint scheme in mind, but I am struggling with how to finish the trim work.

I am planning to paint two walls a bright yellow-green, almost a neon and the other two walls a bright red-purple. The unfinished ceiling will be spray painted black to cover all of the pipes, wires, ducts, etc. I will not consider finishing the ceiling because I need the extra headroom between the joists for running on my treadmill and weights. The flooring is also going to be a darker color because I am going to install the rubber flooring meant for workout rooms, which tends to be near black.

I will be framing out two glass block windows, a door and putting trim around the base of the wall. I have been debating on whether I should paint the trim and framing or if I should go with stained wood, or maybe a combination of both.

Any suggestions or advice would be great.

Thank you in advance.
