Depends upon what color your birch is stained. I don't care for mixing gray tones with light to mid range wood tones. Picture would help.

I hope you are aware that a marble will stain easily, while a granite one will not. There are several granites in that color range that you could use instead of marble. Or you could select a white quartz product for a more contemporary look. What color are your cabinets? What's on your living room floor?

Why is this product not more widely known if it works so well?

It just came to the United States at the end of May 2012. It is currently manufactured in Australia by a company named Innovative Composites which has started a company here named Clearstone. It is available through trained applicators all over the country who are coating their marble type tops everyday with Clearstone. These applicators are working through their customer base. I was asked by a client I installed Clearstone for to check out this site and every once in a while I go through and let you wonderful designers know whats possible. You'll hear more about us. We get a lot of traffic to our web site. We have installed Clearstone in some high profile locations like JFK airport and Rockefeller Center. And make no mistake - it works incredibly. You can pour acid on it and let it sit until it dries and it will not etch. It looks natural and can be either honed or polished!

Before it was installed at JFK airport it had to be approved by the architects/designers/ and TSA. It is the only solution and has been for a long time. This is not a new product.
