It is essentially hydroponics... okay for marijuana, indoors; but in the real world, I would not use it...it is too unforgiving.

Super easy to use, super easy to adjust for moisture retention.

Selecting a properly sized container is a big factor. Choosing/using composted versus uncomposted bark is a big factor.

It's my workhorse around the yard.

Silica, please post the reference to a scientific publication for the research you mention. I would like to read it. I found this article http://oregonstate.edu/dept/nursery-weeds/feature_articles/physical_properties/physical_properties.html but it, too gives no reference to a scientific publication.

1. The article refers to "bark based media" but how similar is that to 5-1-1?
2. What is the water availability like in the Miracle Grow Garden Soil?
3. What is the optimal figure for water availability? Would a mix with 10% of the water being available be suitable for growing citrus in pots? Would 1 mix with 95 % available water be really good to use?
