Buying living room furniture on a budget in the DC Metro area?

Hi,

I'm looking to fill out the living room with modern / mid century modern style furniture (couch, coffee table, dining table).


Does anyone know of good local furniture stores for someone with a budget of under $2K? What are some of the best brands to look at for that price range? I try to stay away from IKEA. I have heard of people mention Belfort in Sterling VA and ModernContempo. Are these good places? Anyone have any other suggestions? I would prefer to get floor samples if possible to keep costs down.
