This is taken from the street next to the house with the carport. This is a picture of our house. I was hoping to do some sort of low screening combined with something high enough to hide their garage on top of the hill. Like a very tall tree? I'll get a better picture from down below. The chain link goes around the entire perimeter of our property.

You could put some planters along fence line with bamboo in them, or even run corrugated iron fence with some planters in front. Then there's the green bum! Subtle hint to keep noise down

Better idea of size

Check your leach field boundaries, most times the edges are well back from the property lines. The rule for noise abatement is "the thicker and higher, the better". A stuccoed block wall along that side would help combined with a water feature next to your outdoor space.

Yes, the leach lines are further away, they are in the open dirt area above all the citrus. Block wall would be good for fire safety, there is a propane tank over there. I'm just not sure about what is tall/dense enough to hide their garage a bit. I think block wall would be perfect for hiding the carport. Thank you, chiflipper.

Definitely planters if you can manage them. My dad built some last year to combat annoying neighbors, and he loves them.
