You'd have to ask a realtor. I happen to think black cabinets are very smart. Not sure if would deter a possible buyer who could always have them repainted.

Answering your question point blank, I would much prefer white cabinets if I were out house hunting.

I think they look really nice. If you do end up selling in the future, ask your realtor about it and paint then.

Me - I would rather wood cabinets (either maple or oak). My point - you cannot second-guess the next buyer. Enjoy your black cabinets.

While I prefer white (& even though yours look nice I think most buyers where I live would too)) , you should keep them as they are. Buyers can change the color or remodel completely if they're not fond of them. Also depends upon your locale. I have several relatives in the East who have black everything it seems, tubs, sinks, etc. Maybe more popular there? I don't know. Have lots of black in my house but as accents.

Are you planning on selling within the next 3-5 years or so? If not, I wouldn't worry about it, as all the trends will be different by then and the herds will all want something else. Make your home so you like and be happy.

We have black cabinets in our kitchen, laundry and great room bar. They look great. When we first looked at the house five years ago, I was a bit skeptical, but it never was a deal breaker. As soon as we moved on, I realized I actually love them. I wouldn't change them if I were you...they look really nice and the next owner may think that, too.
