Update on Art around TV

last modified: 9 years ago

This is somewhat temporary. I have two pieces of art I love but am waiting on the frames. At least after living in our home for a year and a half I've finally got some art on this big wall.

Btw, it really looks better in person. Not perfect, but progress.

Looks good to me except the picture to the left of the tv seems to be too close to it.

Thanks everyone. I literally just started hanging anything I had available. I will make it look better once I have the pieces I really want to hang. But hey, you've got to start somewhere! It is better than the blank wall I had before.

Thanks everyone! I feel such a relief for having finally done something for that lonely wall. I think having to decorate around a tv is one of the hardest things to do.

I guess you just start doing it and see what happens.

I had a big wall in the den in our last house and it was hard to fill. We finally put shiplap on it and called it a day. But I really like what you've done with the paint and art. Your choices are just right. Great job!

Looks great. Hard job to create a grouping. Did you use command hooks?

Thanks!! No command hooks just small nails.

Looks great -- and I have to note a dark wall is good for not making a TV stand out too much (when not in use).

Thanks for all of the kind words. It means a lot. This whole thing was so hard! Glad I came close to getting it right.

I love it! Wonderful colors and balance. You made it look organic and natural though I am sure it was incredibly hard to work around the TV! So impressed!

It's very interesting to me because I am going to end up with an offset big screen TV (offset from the bookshelves below it) eventually in my family room, and the pictures are an ingenious way to bring balance. I can't center the shelves under the TV because it has to be mounted between two windows on the wall, and then there is a heating vent about 2/3 of the way into the space on the floor and I just do not want to cover it so the TV and the shelves don't line up. Right now it is OK because I don't have the TV yet, but that day may well come and my SO is already grousing we don't have enough room for all his various acoustical needs. I'm happy to just have a TV and a stereo, but for him it is a big deal thing. I can't complain, he spins the music and I get to listen to some great stuff!
