I have had a long wooden table in my kitchen for more than 2 decades. We have classic black Windsor chairs and they all have good pads (that are machine washable). It looks good and feels great for the tush.

I can't imagine what you think is modern vintage or farmhouse about those chairs. They are just modern, and IMO would look dreadful with a farmhouse table. I like the idea of the bentwood and rattan chairs, or the Windsor chairs.

I agree about losing the sconces, what's with the long black strip going up from the top? Just odd.
