Are these chair pads "scratchy" or soft?

I currently have wool chair pads that are awful to sit on in shorts.

    These chair pads are soft. They're made out of felted wool.

    The ties pull out after use. How do you keep them from slipping off

    The hooked wool chairpads do not have ties. You could add ties yourself or try an anti skid padding.
