Is Soleil Quartize considered a hard or soft quartzite?

I have read that there are hard and soft quartzites. How as consumers do we know the difference? There are many mixed discussions regarding quartzite as countertops. My understanding is that if they are well sealed and a leathered finish, the etching does not occur. Any insight is most helpful.

It is not always easy to tell the differences in quartzites. Soleil Quartzite is a softer stone. Soft quartzites have calcium carbonate in them which make them much like a marble. And marbles will scratch, etch and stain. There are many excellant sealers, but always use common sense when caring for these stones.
