Get pots with holes in the bottom, probably not a lot bigger than what they are in. There are different opinions about the best potting soil, some people like orchid mix, but I think about anything would be better than their current condition. They don't want full sun, dappled shade is good. Not sure where you are in AZ, but if it gets cold you might want to bring them in. I'm not sure about exact temps. Mine are outside all year, occasionally dips below 40. They are under a tree.

Few plants will live in pots that don't drain. And holiday cacti are epiphytes that grow perched on trees and rocks in nature - good drainage at all times is needed. If they haven't rotted off dump them out and re-pot in suitable coarse medium (such as is labeled cactus mix if you are using prepared potting soils bought at stores) using containers that drain.
