I'd consider running it all going left to right on the plan.

That's how I envisioned it as well, the flooring guys had the print on the wall with notes showing it going front to back. Any reason(s) you'd go left to right?

I like it to run with the longest distance (great room, kitchen, dining) and parallel to the slider. Makes the space seem larger and less chopped up.

Just for fun, you might want to find out if you need transition strips through doorways. And you will want to find out the maximum run this floor can handle. Some laminates will accept a maximum run of 30 feet while others can go 50ft (that is rare). But almost ALL of them require transition strips through door ways and pinch points.

My other concern is the kitchen. What flooring, other than laminate, do you have planned for the kitchen? Tarkett is a nice laminate...very nice. But it is possible/probable that this floor will have problems in a kitchen.

If you plan on installing in a kitchen you may want to purchase the kitchen flooring "twice". In other words, if you have a 200sf kitchen, make sure you purchase another 200sf and put it into storage.

Laminate floors in kitchens have a long and horrible history of having shortened lifespans. Some low-end laminates = 3 years (some barely make it 18 months) while the higher end products have a 7 year life span. Either way you look at it, a laminate floor in a kitchen will require replacement MUCH faster than the rest of the home.

If you purchase the kitchen twice, you will have the ability to do a major repair (full remove and replace) without worrying about "finding" more product. Which is a problem because these man made products have a shelf life of 18 months or so. After that, they are DEATHLY hard to find.

Good luck. The direction will be determined by the need for transitions in doorways and the longest run of the floor. If you remove the kitchen and use something else, this is a natural break that will change your options.
