Spider mites

I have recently gone through an infestation of spider mites on a number of my plumeria. my question is that my desert rose plants are not experiencing the same dilemma. does that indicate that desert rose is not prone to spider mites or does it mean that plumeria is more prone to them? my remedy for eradicating the mites was to use a mix of neem oil and a drop or two of dish soap. the neem oil seems affective however it seems to take longer to be affective as opposed to Bayer 3 and 1 which I am now using. have you folks come to the same conclusion ?
