We have a new construction and we are very undecided about balluster size. We have a 61/4 post and the stair guy is recommending 1 1/2" balusters. I took a picture of a similar property and we felt that it was too beefy. Almost like a white wall running.
We want ti see through the balusters. We were thinking of 1 1/4" . But the stair guy says it might look disproportionate.
Also the cost is almost doubling as the hand rail also becomes an upgrade to accommodate larger ballusters. Our house will have an open foyer.

Please help us decide.
