Phal. Do I have multiple plants in one?

Hi everyone, AGAIN! hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving, and i hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza, and any other holiday, season. I purchased a small phal from my local grocery store. I couldn't stop myself because they were all looking so healthy, some were growing new spikes, and they also started carrying dendrobiums. I bought this one phal about a week ago, and today, i took a closer look and noticed two smaller leaves facing perpendicular to the "main" phal, and noticed that they didn't seem to be bottom leaves partially covered by the potting medium, but that they might be separate plants growing...either planted together, or....well, i don't know. which is why i came here. I took some photos, i hope you are able to see exactly what I am talking about. The two leaves are the very bottom leaves that are coming out of the soil facing a different direction. i noticed almost a little sprout in the middle, kind of like what you would see if you have ever had a phal that lost all of its leaves on one side only and you were left with the core and the one sided leaves.... hope that makes sense.. any who. here are some photos, let me know what you guys think!

note: I am not speaking of the NEW leaf that is emerging from the "main" phal. I know it is kind of the center of the photo, but it was hard to zoom in on the two bottom leaves i am speaking of.
