A los Angeles Question

My recent visitors from Los Angeles liked my orchid collection and wanted to try growing orchids at home. I am certain on which orchids would be the best choice here in Florida but I need to find out which orchids are well adapted to the LA area. To get a newbie addicted the first experience needs to be a good one. So any ideas?

Go to growingontheedge.net and ask "Epiphyte" who is an orchid expert extreme in Los Angeles where he lives. He sows orchid seeds on his yard tree's with success.

Just sent you an e-mail! There are lots and lots of species and hybrids of epiphytic orchids that thrive here in Los Angeles. But Los Angeles is a pretty big place so there's quite a decent amount of variation in climate. If your friends are still interested they can e-mail me and I'll give them some recommendations tailored to whichever part of LA they live in.
