The Meyer peel makes the most delightful candied lemon peel; and preserved lemon or salted lemon made with Meyers is highly sought after in the Middle East. Last year we sent lemons to the Fruit Logistica expo in Berlin and the people were walking around sucking on the peel and telling each other that it was not bitter.

I forgot to mention that the lemonade fruit had only 3 or 4 seeds.

I also had my first meyer the other day and I did taste the peel...just as johnmerr says...not the least bit bitter. I wonder if they would be good candied along with some ginger root in the mixture? Ginger and lemon should be a tasty combo.

Anything , ANYTHING made with Meyer Lemons is better than if it is made with any other lemon.

It shouldn't be "half sour". It's exactly like an orange just lemon flavored.

people need to get past the fact that it's a lemon. It is not sour, nor is it insipid.

Vladimir I am happy to hear that it is your NZ lemonade that flower and fruited. I am probably a fair time from any fruit. My 8 month old grafting is to young to ripen any of its around 20 fruits. I'll be picking them off in about 2 weeks.

Pip I hope my NZL produces fruit as you described. My Cuban Shaddocks are still outside and have survived Cincinnati lows of 23F then a high of 25F then down to 18F and now above freezing and they look good. I may be up to 5F warmer though.

How wonderful Vladimir! My largest of the three lemonade trees currently has 4 lemons on it, maybe ping-pong ball sized or so. I can't wait for my kids to try it as they haven't had one before.

Vladimir..Could you please post a picture of that tree again? Is it one tree since I have been trying to find one, or a few trees in one pot like what Laura and I were talking about the other day? I need to get me one of those. Where did you get it? How's the fragrance of the flowers? Strongly scented?...By the way..How's the trees doing in the greenhouse? How have the temps been in there?

Vladimir, That is wonderful news to hear that you and your wife loved the fruit. It is gorgeous! I am not sure what size hands you have, but the lemon looks like the size of a Eureka or Lisbon, correct?

I have two clusters of NZL fruit on my tree, but it will be months before they are ready to pick. Spring, probably. I look forward to that day.

I also salt my Meyer lemons then use it for tagine . even by itself it's delicious .

I will post a pic of the tree ASAP. Re size of my hands - I wear XX Large gloves. The fruit was about 3.5 inches long. That fruit was on it when I got the tree in June. There is another fruit on it but it is still green and only the size of a golf ball.

Laura, I think it is 4 years old. It is about 5'6" tall.

Dave, may calamondin seedlings are only 1 1/2 years old and so are to young to produce fruit.

Dave, the calamondins are only 1 1/2 years old. They are the ones with which I did the Rootmaker experiment (http://forums2.gardenweb.com/discussions/3920837/no-branching-on-tree-seedlings-grown-in-rootmaker-pots?n=27).

They were started from seed in May (?) 2015. This is what they looked like last May.

Not impossible but not as easy.
