Emily, I'm also a bit behind but did get our tree up. This photo's from last year, but truly looks identical to this year's tree. I swear, nothing beats the smell of a fresh tree!

For me it's all about sparkly ornaments and white lights.

I have my tree up and mostly decorated. Since I reopened my shop on Etsy, I have been very busy, which is a good thing. It's hard finding the time to get all of my decorating done. I do have all white lights on my tree and 95% of the ornaments are clear and/or gold for an elegant look, which I love. We will be spending Christmas with my daughter and granddaughter and this means if I do not have enough time to get all the decorating done, it does not matter since we won't be home for Christmas!

ha! arriving at this thread is the motivation i needed to set down my coffee cup and go finish the decorating. then i'll take some pics.

thanks you rog7neck...whats nice is the cabinet is tall, so short people (like me) look up at the trees, and the tiny lights are like stars.

nnirgt, don't you just love those "fairy" lights? I have them everywhere.

i do too... i have them going up the banister in the front hall.... years when i decorate the front hall. this year is not that year...LOL.

This is some edible decor I like to do this time of year...simple, fun and pretty. A rosemary wreath with olives, bocconcini, etc. I found this inspiration photo online several years ago.

Beth Bevington, I was at HomeGoods the other day and came across a giant red gingerbread man cookie cutter. The one I saw might have been closer to 4 feet but pretty darn BIG!

i did my homegoods run the week after thanksgiving and didnt find anything interesting, which saved me some money. didnt see the cookie cutter things. i bought all of the mercury glass trees there last year in one trip, after having seen them at PB for 5x the price.

this year my first grandchild is 4 months old, which means next year he'll be walking. it will be a giant reassess, for sure.

I will have to try that next year. We moved 3 years ago and I have still not found the right spot for the village. I'll try under the tree next year.

This year, I have it on the mantle and also spread about the house.

We have 7 trees and lots of small vignettes.

i saw the sweetest window display at the bridal shop at the end of our street (and our daughter even got her gown there).... they had an ivory fabric dressmakers measuring tape being the garland on a small tree... it looked so french, some how. i suppose i should take a photo of it, it was lovely.

(also, got a christmas card from her wedding venue, which said 'Merry Everything', which i thought was great. )
