oh, yes !

My dream house has a playroom hidden behind a bookcase as shown in your picture - that way guests don't see the disaster but the kids are still free to leave their dolls / cars / legos (or whatever captivated them that day!) set up for the next day of play!

Of course my current home has what we call a "Scooby Doo" room, I find this to be an annoying encroachment on valuable square footage but it's too late to change now without a major renovations. The previous owner created it and didn't put much thought into it so it is wasted space and difficult to use even for storage.

kathy do tell, you can't leave it at we have one. lol

Absolutely, this would be cool!

Haha of course. That's literally what we do every day

I would love to have a hidden room in my house! For one, it's just cool, for two, what a great place to hide things that you would otherwise not want seen. I could go on...

I must be the only one to say no lol.

I said no too. I’m not sure what the purpose of a secret room is? Do you hide stuff there or do you hide there? Either way I’ll just make do with my secret baseball bat that is waiting for the home intruder.

Just did one in my basement

We had one in the basement bar area of a previous house - that "bookcase" in the corner pivoted in to reveal a wine cellar running behind the bar area. My DH used to refer to it as my panic room.

BTW, those wallpaper borders were the first things to go. Sorry for the poor photo quality. They are the listing photos from a house we bought in 2002.

Yes 100% I would-it would be like having my own TARDIS or going thru the wardrobe to Narnia.

@Matt awesome job!

I think they are soooooo cool, but given the chance I am not sure it would cross my mind to build one.
