There is a movable/tiltable ships ladder mounted to the side of the kitchen/office "box", next to the entry door. It cannot be seen in this photo except for at the loft level.

The Crib was originally designed with a bathroom in a lower foundation level. There is not one on the main floor. The kitchen is designed to be inside the "box" shown in this photo (where the office is in the prototype model).

The prototype model has been relocated to a mountianous site in West Virginia where it sits upon a lower level with a bathroom, a bedroom and a mechanical space. The office has been transformed into a kitchen.
