"Sealing" Big Sur Table?

Beautiful table, concerned of water marks.
Barring using coasters and placemats every time with young children, has anyone "sealed" the Big Sur table? Perhaps with Fiddes Hard Oil Wax? Fiddes Hard oil wax is a European wax recommended for raw oak that doesn't change the color of the oak, food safe, and will prevent water ring marks. Would love feedback on how to make the table more every day friendly. There are many posts regarding sealing Restoration Hardware raw reburbished wood tables with Rubio Monocoat (but that sounds more like a true sealer that I am concerned will darken wood and potentially make it look shellacked). Any experience and advice appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks for your interest in the Big Sur Table. We suggest the following care:
- Dust with soft dry cloth.
- Do not leave spills unattended.
- Wood characteristics: grain, knots, pitting, mineral deposits.
- Expansion and contraction will occur with changes in humidity.
- Seasonal splitting and checking are inherent to this product.
- Do not use abrasive cleaner.
- Use natural beeswax regularly to maintain finish.
- Protect from heat and liquids.
- Finish may darken with time and exposure to the elements.
- Staining is inherent to natural wax finish; Maintain wax as needed
- Wipe spills immediately to reduce staining and water marks.
- Protect surface from stains and scratching.
- Use of linens, coasters and trivets is recommended.
- Finisher's Formula (sold thru Crate&Barrel) is recommended.
- Test in an inconspicuous spot first and follow mfg. instructions.

Thank you for your inquiry. It is not recommended this table be sealed. We do suggest a product we carry "Finishers Formula" to be used to maintain the table. A natural beeswax should be used as well to maintain the finish. Another suggestion may be to cover the top with a sheet of glass to protect and to allow view of the natural beauty of the product.
