My first Pomona sweet lemons

I harvested the first of my Pomona sweet lemons. They had an interesting taste that I've never experienced before in a citrus fruit. It wasn't sour and it wasn't sweet, I don't want to call it insipid because it tasted good. Maybe more of a mellowed lemon, no serious sour bite. Here's some pics.

It weighed in at 1/4 lb

Nice fruit! I did not realize they were so large. How many does the tree have?

Hey Laura, the tree had a total of 4 on it, this one was the yellowest. So I let my son pick it, he was so stoked. How are all of your trees doing?

Congratulations on your harvest. None of the sweet lemons or limes are sweet or sour. They just taste good. Pip gave me one of my sweet lemon trees and I grafted the second one. They are New Zealand lemonade trees that are doing well. They are a cross of a sweet lemon with a mandarin and are said to be mildly sweet with a pure lemon taste I have not gotten any fruit yet.
NZL with 6 new growth shoots averaging 5 inches each for about 30 inches of growth. This tree is about 8 months old since the graft stated growing and is 30" tall.

Looking good Evan! I am so excited for some kind of "eat out of hand" citrus. I ordered one of these pomonas for spring. Can't wait!
