Yes, it is actually a lot deeper and wider than it looks. Don't have the dimensions on me at the moment but I believe it's about 90" wide.

Faster, better looking, and FREEING would be to drywall right over it paint as you like and get the tv you want, with a lovely console below. It's not really centered on the space anyway! Unless you NEED a builtin in....don't feel hemmed in by it. And your wiring will be super easy: ) Consider your flooring first of course . I will add it is NOT 90 inches wide, it's about 72 at most, my guess. Look at the doorway next to it: ) Might even be 60".

Found the dimensions we took while there, it's 83" wide and 28" deep. In the process of moving and packing but this TV is 60" diagonal, the cabinet is 62" wide. I never really liked the credenza's width for this TV, felt like it needed to be wider. I do like the idea of enclosing it for storage.

Also, I really wouldn't center the TV on that wall, since the sliding glass pocket doors open to outside. I'm considering replacing those with French doors and adding a Florida room. Might work as a wine or bar area.

It doesn't look like 90" to me either. If your tv actually fits in the recess, I would suggest a low console (up to 30" high and the same width as the tv) to set under it. Where you locate your tv may control/influence how you arrange the furniture.

I think the TV looks a bit odd in there, honestly...and don't you want to be able to see it from the kitchen? I agree with others who have suggested drywalling over it completely.

I can see the TV perfectly from the kitchen and even from the master bedroom, I want a Beachy room, with blue and orange accents. The color of the walls is perfect, is like a tan color. We are just moving in and u need to cover the sliding glass doors, which are pocket doors and open all the way. I want to put some window treatments in it because of privacy. But need to figure out what color drapes to get. So I need to figure out what I'm going to do with this room. Please help. Don't mind the fridge, we upgraded to a 4 door one and moved the original there because we had the space. The dog crate is also going to be gone. I miss my blues and orange tones.
