LOVE your inspiration picture, but I would carry it to that other Left hand wall that the shelf if on. I'm guessing you'll get rid of hanging plants and shelf and put some great art or piece like your inspiration photo. these chairs from west elm are cool

You have great main pieces but the dinky stuff on the walls does not compliment.

Get rid of the hanging baskets ???? the tiny shelf and take down all the little pictures behind the x-mas tree.

I like your inspiration picture, but maybe a little dark for your space. I think your table and chairs are great. Maybe paint the chairs light and recover in a brighter sunset color. You can accent your wall with grasscloth for some texture and interest. It comes in lots of colors. I'd try that first and see if you need to layer with big art. If the chandy and chairs pop, if may be enough. You could do a reclaimed wood wall too but not as beachy.

Mid century condo? Keep the walls white. The dining room looks dark, so I'd go with light chairs, too. Maybe the Eames shell chair. Your focus should be on big art for that back wall. Something modern and graphic. That and the chairs are all you need there.

You could go with a funky color on the chairs, too, as long as it's light.

Your table and chairs are dark so I would not paint the wall dark.

Wow I can't believe all the great ideas. Thanks everyone. Loving the the idea of two large abstract paintings. I'm thinking of going a little brighter to bring some energy to the dining area. Thoughts on yellow and red? Also putting some sort of texture/ 3d wall art on the left wall.
