I am using walnut veneer on my slab kitchen cabinet doors. I do not want to use any stain at all, just want to seal/protect them. I also do not want to use anything with uv protection as I would like them to lighten up with time.

What are your recommendations for finishes? I did a test sample with a water based polyacrylic, but I think I will probably end up using an oil-based product for a "warmer" wood look (though water based would be sooo much easier).

Any suggestions for specific product lines would be great! I will not be able to do any kind of spraying unless it is in a spray can...I don't have sprayer...so I will need to do hand rubbed, brushed or rolled on, or "spray painted" on...
