Which solvents have you already tried?

I've been scared to try anything. I will have to replace the door when the bathroom is remodeled if I can't reverse this. I already have to reverse the swing on the door, so I'd really rather have the door match what's already here on the other doors.

They may have used a water based glaze on it. Try a small section and rub with a rag soaked in denatured alcohol. Glaze can be pretty tough though. If it is an oil based stain then you will have to use a solvent such as mineral spirits. Unfortunately this will most likely soften the finish underneath it to. If the glaze is a waterborne finish and the finish beneath is an oil base finish, then the alcohol should not hurt that. Either way it could be messy. Good luck.

Thank you. It's worth a shot. I guess at the very worst I'll be out for a new pre-door. That's always been in the back of my mind. I know this stuff scratches off pretty easily, so I've got my fingers crossed.
