I did not know there was a heating unit there, it really limits your furniture placement. Can you try to separate one of the end pieces. For instance the one near the window, can it be pushed down further to being under the window and the small cabinet put in the corner. How would this look and feel. You can also try to putting it under the window and turn the other 3 pieces so that they face it - this will take the sofa off of the wall - is there enough space to do this.

Artwork would be better. I would lean toward one larger horizontal piece.

This is what I would do, Move the sectional 2-3" from the wall. That will give it some room to breathe. Your new place doesn't have the room for all that furniture. I would downsize. Get rid of the end table that hast the solo picture and the thing that all the pillows are on. I would get a new streamlined coffee table or get a C table and call it good. If you are able, I would also get a shallower entertainment center.

The lighting is very dated and doesn't make sense for a living room. Updating lighting is very easy if the wiring is pre-existing. A nice rug that covers the area and large art will complete the look.

Go for the impact of one mega-sized piece of art. Use tape on the wall to measure out how large you can go. Just did this in a ski condo, worked beautifully.
