HIre a good architect :-) ? I can't say that I found any particular source for inspiration other than the house itself, and our clients' more modern tastes. It helped us to think in terms of a dialogue between the existing envelope and the remodeled elements. Each needs to be respected and allowed to speak its own language clearly.
