You could lower the TV & either mount on wall or set it on a wider media cabinet, don't necessarily need a built in ... even though I have them. There's lots of media stands available online & in stores of every style.

I would replace the ottoman with a leather or solid color one. Also, get all new throw pillows in color (s) you like. Look for art... prints, metal art.... whatever, for the walls.

I don't dislike the ottoman. But I would probably want to make the TV more substantial. Either a built in cabinet around it or a very interesting console under it.

And you need art on the walls and some awesome drapes.

The chaise is on the wrong end of the sectional. It blocks the room. Reverse it.

I would want a low console running the full length of the wall. Definitely keep the TV on the wall but lower it.

More lighting. I'd center the sofa on the windows and put a floor lamp to the right and a large square or round table to the left with a table lamp on top.

You might like panels on the windows although your blinds look quite nice as they are.

As far as colors what do you guys recommend?

Corals? Teals? Yellow? Or greens? That's my difficulty. Do I need a rug under ottoman?

No decorative frippery overcomes the fact that the furniture is unsuited to the space. Return the sectional and go with a conventional sofa and chair.

any of those colors would work great with gray. what do you like best? check out pictures of completed rooms on Houzz for inspiration. I know people do it, but I haven't had any luck with rugs on top of carpet it always moves.

you need a console that is wider than what you have. I think twice as wide as your tv. if the space between the top and the tv seems too much ad something tall either side of the tv like the vases in the first picture. good luck and have fun. sectionals really limit how you can set up a room but if it works for you, theres no reason to replace it. remember the comments you receive here are just suggestions. there really is no absolute right way for furniture placement lifestyles, tastes, room size and budgets are different for everyone.

I'd go with something modular from IKEA as otherwise you will be tempted to put more pieces of furniture on that wall and muck up your clean design. For cheap 2 Lack TV units are nearly 10' long and $100 but very deep at 21" but there are a lot of other ways to go. Look at the shelving units as well as TV storage as the shallow 12" is just fine for modern TVs.
