Do you think having an entryway table on the other wall with the painting above it is too much?

I am biased because I do have a bench and a console on the other side, so I would say no, it's not too much.

A console with a really nice lamp would be great. Also a great place to drop purses and keys.

The photo is kind of dark, but this is what I have (it's an older photo, but the arrangement is the same).

The chandelier is so dramatic and the rest of the room is so understated. First I'd put down a rug that fills more of the floor rather than just being something to wipe your feet on. If the foyer is 10x10 then think 8x8 or so. I wouldn't have a bench unless you have a spot for shoes, just doesn't make sense to me. I would want a table that matches the chandelier for drama that is only about 2/3s the length of the wall with a pretty lamp and a bowl to catch little things on top. I would put a small piece of art over the table and a good sized vertical mirror on the opposite wall.

It looks very dark, as is...lots of potential though!

1 - As others advised, I would absolutely get a bigger, brighter rug.

2 - If you are going to keep the bench, then put a large mirror above it (the bigger the better for your tall entrance.

3 - Per your question...Yes, you can definitely add a console table on the other side, with art above it. You have plenty of room there.
