Let me just chime and say this is a great little tree but not at all a fast grower......in fact, extremely slow, as most small trees are.

Yes I agree. Fast is not always possible with small tree.

Mike - Thank you for the information. As a matter of fact, someone suggested visiting Arboretum in Philly as well. I am working on my list.

I wanted to see if you all recommend any of the following trees that will grow healthy, less pest problems so I don't ruin them and easy to maintain as I am new to gardening or working with plants:

1) Autumn Gold Ginkgo Tree (Ginkgo biloba 'Autumn Gold')

2) Autumn Blaze® Maple (Acer x freemanii 'Jeffersred' PP 4864)

I have other cultivars of each tree. I have Acer rubrum October Glory and it is an easy to grow tree, mine has no problems. In general some of these maples do have surface roots that may occasionally impact mower blades. Autumn Blaze® Maple (Acer x freemanii 'Jeffersred' PP 4864) is a hybrid of Acer rubrum ( Red Maple) and Acer saccharinum (Silver Maple) . You will have a fast growing tree, however it will exceed 35ft.

Ginkgos are wonderful trees but not at all fast or even moderately fast growing. And unless a dwarf selection, will get much larger than 30', maybe even as much as twice that height in time.

You mentioned deer resistant trees. I guess this would depend if you have minimal or moderate or heavy browsing. Moderate or heavy browsing would require extensive fencing around the tree no matter what height or a considerable amount of time spraying a deterent on the leaves during the growing season. I lived in the South Mountains with heavy browsing and the only trees that survived were fenced for "years" until the leader was over 7'.
