Bathtub front

The front of my bathtub looks like this, but it's the little tiles. can wood be built over the tiles?

    Thank you for your interest in our project. This built in window seat is made of wood with a painted finish. The flooring is stone tile. The flooring can either be run under the window seat or could have been terminated at the base of it and the tile edge concealed by the wood shoe detail.
