Thanks for loving this kitchen. Yes, the tiles are glass. In this case, we used regular, white face plates. We used black ones on the island so they blended with their dark cherry coloured cabinets. We prefer to have our face plates blend in with their surroundings rather than pop.

You can buy different face plates. I know that if you use subway tile, there are face plates that match the white subway tile.
