I went with the Miele hood for continuity of look, since we have all Miele appliances. No issues so far, have it it for over a year. Looks good too.

This is a discussion about appearances as much as anything and Miele and Wolf are not on the same end of the spectrum in their styling. With nothing else involved, the VAH will look better with the Wolf. But the style of the rest of the kitchen is even more relevant. If the Miele looks better, get that one!

we are buying a Miele as we liked the look, plus it has LED lights not halogen. What kind of lighting does VAH have? Halogens get hot.

There issue with VAH is cleaning. I considered it until I read the cleaning instructions and realized that it needed to be completely disassembled and reassembled and I basically would need to sit on the range to do that. No biggie as I have electric. But with a gas range and that would be my number one issue. Take a look at the VAH cleaning instructions. The looks will no longer be an issue I will wager.

I agree with Jo - we looked at a bunch of hoods and most of them have very flimsy baffles or screens, even some of the expensive brands. Even the clips that hold them in place are sometimes cheaply made. DH liked the Miele because the baffles are very solidly built, and easy to remove for cleaning. Not that he will be the one cleaning.
