Quite a collection, and lovely. You must have a greenhouse or something. I can't imaging moving 25+ in and out ea season. I keep my collection at 12 and get rid of 1 if I find one I must have. My criteria is based on having one of each color and lately on compact plumies for ease of handling. Fragrance not an issue b/c they all smell good to me. I don't try to hybridize so fertility also not a consideration.

Jacks Purple a lovely mauve that may be an interesting addition. Maybe a variegated foliage one.

Thank you so much for your input, I shall include those on my list. Most of the plants I either rooted or grew from seed. No, no greenhouse, just a large room in my house.

Bill, you've posted pics of your beautiful grow room before but wonder what kind of lights you have? Guessing CFL's? That's an incredible collection of plumeria you have. :)

I'm so new to growing plumeria I shouldn't even venture with a suggestion but the heck with it. Haven't had a bloom on it yet, but the JJ Divine is a gorgeous plant. Really full and lush.

Well, it's a common one, but I love my slaughter pink. Really reliable bloomer with light pink and white flowers. I'm also a fan of madame poni but I don't have that one yet. I'm currently trying to root a hilo beauty. They're notorious for being hard to root but the flowers are gorgeous....everyone wish me luck...

Hi Nancy and sorcerer, thanks for your comments. Hilo beauty and Jj divine are choices I have been looking at. Nancy, I have about 3000watts of cfl and seems to be the right direction to have gone.

Jj divine is a nice one, just looked it up...a big problem I have is that I'm in the north and I've heard that a lot of darker colors need a lot of heat to develop. This is my third year growing plumerias so I'm not sure how true it is. I'm always hesitant to buy darker cuttings because I don't know if the color will come out here, but I love hilo beauty. I've been looking at kimo and puu kahea for a while, may just bite the bullet and get them. Even if the color is a little different I love the flower shapes...I'd love to see pictures of your collection blooming in the summer :)

I am in the north as well. The room that I have them in is a constant 86 degrees, then they will go outside when the conditions are better. Actually this is my first year with plumeria although I have been growing desert rose and banana plants for a number of years. I will post pics during the season as they go. So far I am pleased with my success in rooting many of the plants during the winter thanks to several of the experts of this forum. So I will see what the summer months brings. I have enough room for about 30 more plumeria so I have to be selective in my choices.

    Bill,

How much space do you have anyway??? Looks like you have about 25 or so plants now and you can squeeze in another 30 more? Wow. Your grow room must be enormous. Very envious :)

The pics you posted awhile ago didn't convey the amount of plumeria real estate you have. Know you're primary love is bananas so I'm blown away by what I picture your grow room space to be.

    Best to you.

You Should add a Penang Peach and a Dwarf Singapore Pink to your list.

Thanks very much. Yes, Penang Peach is on my list, have not seen too much on singapore pink, I'll look it up. I like the idea that it is a dwarf.

Forgot to also ask about 'Gulf Stream Cotton Candy." My assumption is that's two plants on the same line. I have a gulf stream from the original purveyor of the variety (Emerson). He told me the story of the original tree being on US1 in the keys at the Gulf Stream RV park. Both are no longer there but cuttings still live on. Its a great variety to have. A nice striped flower with good growth and blooming habits and traditional scent (I think).

Great Laura. I just want to make sure I don't have a dominant color such as too many pinks. I will include George brown on my list. Is it difficult to find? Metallica is another i wish to include. Based on your experience, am I leaning too far to one color? Is there a variety that I have that surprises you?

    Thanks Laura

    Hi Bill!!

Impressive list you have and it seems you have a beautiful mix of colorations especially the Yellows... Thornton Lemon Drop is one of my favorites and I'm glad to see it listed!!!

    J -105 is another...

My surprise on your list??? "Honda Kong" Do you mean Hong Kong? That is a beautiful evergreen that has the most fragrant white blooms and is a must have. Mine cane from a friend in California and it's always a yearly bloomer! You will see six petals on a bloom and once I had eight!! You will love this variety and I'm very pleased to see this variety!

    Metallica is another... Great choice!!!

It's going to be an awesome year.. I getting so excited!!!!

Yes, i'm getting excited as well particularly in getting more plants. I have the room for about 30 more, so I have to be very selective. But this has all been fun for me. Although I am pleased with the conditions i have indoors I can't help but believe the plants would do better outside. Have you any suggestions for must haves?

Laura, I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I wanted to say hi. I moved back to Florida, and then in June I moved to Mexico. Remember the adenium seeds you sent me years ago? I accidentally smuggled a few in! I'd forgotten that I kept a few of each back. Going through one of my boxes, I found them. I'm not sure how viable old seeds are, but I'm trying to get them to germinate now. The plants from the ones from before are with a friend in Miami.

I'll let you know how the latest attempt goes. I feel like a stalker. I couldn't figure out how to send a PM, but I wanted to say hi. :)

    Hi Bill!!

You have an awesome list already! Must haves?? Lol.. You have an awesome list already, but if I think of a few more.. I'll let you know!!

Hi Torey!! How wonderful to hear from you!!

Im Sure Bill will not mind you stopping by his thread to say hi!! Sounds like you have been busy and now you are back down South!! Great news if that was your desire to return!!!

I do remember the seeds that I sent to you and I'm thinking that they are a few years old now?? You can always try and see if they are viable. Some have kept seeds for years In A cool dry location and will have some success. You might not have high numbers in your germination process, but it's always fun to try!!!

Let me know how it works out for you..

Thank you for taking the time and you are never stalking.. Lololol!!

    Take good care!! :-)

When I first moved here to Puerto Vallarta, I saw some plumeria that are basically groves & thought of you, Laura. :)

we'll see how the old adenium seeds do. The climate should be to their liking if they germinate.
