I am not familiar with Cabinets to Go but have a 10+ year old IKEA kitchen that we are very happy with, and it is not showing wear (we are not particularly hard on things, though). Good luck!

We've had multiple ikea kitchens and they always look great after several years. I'm actually consistently made more happy with my decision to do ikea when i read the number of people on here with expensive custom cabinets where they end up with screw ups - misalignments, peeling paint, stain variations, and general errors in manufacturing. There is zero to screw up in an ikea kitchen. It all just works well.

To the IKEA kitchen owners, what style fronts do you have?

Veddinge is still working for us, but I admit it's a "good enough" door/front. It's faint pink undertone fades away when paired with Sherwin Williams Snowbound on the walls. Budget and function were our priority. If I would have been willing to spend more, I probably would have gone with semi handmade or scherrs doors but I never compared prices.

I've been very happy with Ikea, three are in rentals and they show no signs of wear. My fronts are Adel Birch, Lindigo White, Bodbyn White and Bodbyn Gray.

we have Akurum (its old) slab front, its a light wood color.

My 11 year old Ikea kitchen has exceeded my expectations. Mine is obviously the old Akurum line- but I have Adel Birch, which is a shaker door with a clear coat.

I did a Lindigo White kitchen in my last house and I loved it. The product is excellent, and the process of designing it and putting it all together was so much fun. I did a lot of hacks and modifications, and made changes along the way, which was a blast. Its such a vast and flexible product line. In terms of durability and overall quality, I thought it was excellent. The kids chipped a door once but I just took it to the store and they gave me a new one for free on the spot. Ikea exceeded my expectations in every way. I'm only not doing Ikea this time around because the closest bricks and mortar location is 2 hrs driving plus a 1 hr ferry ride. In my last house, we were much closer and I loved being able to run down to the store to grab what I needed for the next section of cabinets while my kids were at school, then put it together that night after they went to bed. I can't think of any other way to get such instant gratification in a kitchen reno.

Medallion Silverline....best bang for your buck! Do they want a painted finish? Medallion offers a few 'sheer stains' that look like paint with no paint upcharge. I love my IKEA kitchen(s). We did a Stat kitchen in our old house and just now a Bjorket in the new house.

Why do people bother to put in low quality cabinets? (I am not talking about IKEA). It seems to me that it's just throwing your money away. Of course they will look good at first, but they don't last. Better to save for decent quality IMO. I understand having a limited budget (we did too) but you really do get what you pay for sometimes. IKEA seems to have very positive reviews and a budget friendly price, if it were me, I'd look at them and stay away from places like Cabinets to Go.

I have done 4 ikea Kitchens in 10 years. all installed by spouse. None show any signs of wear. All function great. Do not use their appliances.

I was told by an IKEA sales rep last month that there will be no sale. Apparently the pandemic set them so far back that they don't plan to have a sale. Plus, I have read that over the past year or two they had already pretty much discontinued the big sale. Instead, they have periodic sales where just portion of the kitchen components are on sale.

I am just waiting to be able to actually purchase cabinets from Ikea.

I have just recently seen Cabinets to Go and and although I didn’t open the doors or drawers, they looked nice from what I could see.

People recommend Ikea but I don’t think the quality is the same as it was years back. DH and looked at displays and we were not impressed.

That, if someone has a recent IKEA they can vouch for the quality.

We're six months into our Ikea kitchen (white Axstad) and love it. Everything works great, all the hardware works beautifully and there are no signs of wear. I'd absolutely do it again.

The quality today is excellent. We did a kitchen in 2002/2003 using the old cabinet line, and those were in great condition when we sold in 2016. We put in the new cabinets here last year (Torhamm) and they are every bit as good as the old ones, maybe even better with more flexibility and bells and whistles.

I can't tell you how much I love my Ikea kitchen, installed a year ago, and there is zero sign of wear and tear so far. I installed Bodbyn, grey lower cabinets, white uppers. I got estimates for two other lines of cabinets and they would have cost thousands of dollars more, for a small apartment kitchen. One of the great things about Ikea is that, because it sells such a large volume, it can offer every size and type of cabinet imaginable--felt like I was getting custom cabinets, they fit my space so perfectly. And it offers lots of bells and whistles like pull-out blind corner cabinets, that are much more expensive elsewhere.

One thing to remember about the displays is that they are abused. Seriously abused. Hundreds of people day in and day out opening and closing drawers/cabinets, running into them with strollers, carts, whacking them with purses on the way by - and some being purposely "stress tested" by customers trying to see how tough they really are. Search this forum for IKEA reviews/users and you'll find the vast majority are very happy with their choices. ETA: One caveat to this is the Knoxhult "Instant kitchen" cabinets - those are cheap and should be avoided. The comments above refer to the regular Sektion cabinets.

We are in the process of buying an IKEA kitchen. We've got everything except the cabinet frames, which are still out of stock!!! I love their stuff though.

I installed a CTG kitchen 10 years ago and it’s held up beautifully.

I have cabinets to go in my bathroom and love it. I got white and couldn't be happier.
