Thanks for your help, though I'm not really clear on how Interiors International feels. LOL. Good idea about you tube, pk. I'm wondering about cutting a piece of plywood or heavy cardboard and covering it like a dining chair cushion. That I've done before. While I like the thought of finishing the seat with wood, I'm a little concerned that our small dogs would scratch it.

It looks like you could, and it would be a good space saver in a tight area. I'd plan on getting the table centered under the pendant, and let those dimensions determine the rest. (you may easily find chairs can't maneuver the space, anyway).
