Hello Houzz community,

What product(s) keep windows from showing a crack (this time, used 20 minute set up) . is Silicone needed? Is there something else with elasticity?

the windows are recessed 9" because the exterior brick walls are 13" deep . the cracks are probably from the contraction of the wood window frame as temperatires change.

Nevertheless, One room was done over 12 yrs ago and has NOT CRACKED. Since 2014, we had 3 other rooms painted (with windoww sills smoothed); now gorgeously smooth wwindowsills have a vertical crack.
