Talk about charming!

My first thought is the scale of the rounded piece to the right of the FP is off. Since your husband is so handy, is there any way he can make a suitable base or legs to raise the piece up? Lovely piece.

For the piece to the left of the FP, I am hankering for a top piece with glass doors. I think the symmetry created with the two pieces will be enhancing and compliment the style you have going on.

Oh I have looked at the right side for weeks wondering what I could do. I like the idea of raising it up!
Do you have a visual of your idea for the left side?

Fill your cabinet with all white and blue plates and pitchers...you could add just painted frames on the wall behind it for some charming interest..

These ceramic wall flowers would be very pretty over the low cabinet with a beautiful lamp.

HI -- You just need a big basket or a few large blue and white Asian pots and vases on top of the left side .

Thank you for the wonderful suggestions! We will be painting the wall behind the two pieces this weekend. I think that will definitely lighten up the area. I will also be getting out my packed away white China to display in the glass cabinet along with some blue pieces. I love the ceramic flowers & lamp as well.
