Like where you are going. Since your cabinets are fairly flat, you may consider adding some flat trim and painting so that they mimic a shaker style and add hardware. Your cabinets are very low. Consider putting your microwave another less used item on the shelves at the end of your island. (Obviously you would need to add electrical there). Also adding undercabinet lighting would be a tremendous help. Maybe nice fabric roman shades instead of the blinds.

Yes, I agree your selections are nice. Add some cabinet hardware for sure. Not sure if you can install an appliance garage now, but it would be something to consider for the blender and a few small appliances. I like the blinds and do not think they need to be replace. Nancy gave you a good idea for the microwave.

Your cabinets have a mid-century modern feel...I would just clean them up and enjoy. My suggestion re the microwave...rethink everything on your countertops...which ones do you use daily, weekly, occasionally? Whatever you use most keep out, all others put away. What bothers me is not that the microwave is on the counter but that there is so much other stuff on the counters.
