In May 2015, I applied 70 two-cubic-foot bags of bark mulch 4-inches deep on top of the soil in my 400-sq-ft garden.

On January 16, 2017, while I was in the garden pruning roses and other shrubs; moving roses; tossing out dead roses; tossing out roses that have become overtaken by Dr. Huey rootstocks; pulling palm-tree sprouts; etc, I noticed that the bark mulch was almost all gone (decomposed?)!

Now, I have to wait until Lowes or Home Depot has a "5-bags-for-$10" sale on bark mulch so I can buy another seventy bags.

(I live in a condo so I can't have bulk bark delivered; bagged mulch is more manageable)
